"MEETING THE HOUSING
CHALLENGE
IN L.A. AND VENTURA"
A joint study from Building Industry Assoc. of LA and
Ventura Counties and the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation.
While the media and the general public debate about the
changing housing market, they lose sight of the realty that Los Angeles and
Ventura counties continue to face a serious housing shortage. Since 1990,
housing productions has consistently failed to keep up with demand, creating a
shortfall of nearly 300,000 homes in those counties combined. This shortfall
continues in spite of an ever-increasing population.
Meeting the Housing Challenge in L.A. and Ventura" takes
an in-depth look at our growing population, current housing issues, and the
infrastructure needs of the region. Learn how the increasing population has
affected housing supply/demand and burdened our infrastructure, and what we, as
members of the industry, can do to foster a positive change.
