We Are Already Here –

A Business and Development Position Paper on Housing from the Central City Association, the Building Industry Association, the Valley Industry and Commerce Association and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce

This paper proposes some specific solutions:

  • Affordable housing is part of an overall development crisis in the city.

  • An affordable housing solution must have a political solution within the Mayor’s office.

  • Aggressive lobbying is needed to maximize state and federal funding.

  • Funding sources must provide a long-term funding stream.]

  • Workforce housing constitutes over half of the housing recommended.

  • Real development incentives are needed.

  • The city of Los Angeles must decide what kind of development it wants.
