Housing is a real challenge in Southern
California.
Cities resist growth. To them residential
development means tax revenues are being spent, not gathered as with commercial
developments. To individuals, the thought of adding more housing to their
communities raises a red flag, even before they know anything about it. And
because viable solutions to these impasses are not apparent or popular, we're
still going to have a housing crisis 5 years from now.

Economist, LAEDC

This report offers solutions to a housing
shortage that is not in the future. It is now.
Surprising facts about growth. Won't more come if we build more houses?
2007 study, conducted jointly by the Building Industry Association of Los
Angeles and Ventura Counties, and the Los Angeles County Economic Development
